Ian and Marie

You know what? I love this cake. I hugged it before I left the reception. No, I didn't. But I whispered, "Farewell old friend." No, I didn't. But I loved this cake.

Marie was such a calm and elegant bride on her wedding day. Since she was relaxed when we were planning her cake, I'm not sure why I was surprised by this, but for so many, the big day is not a calm one. So kudos, Marie. And she gave me the highest compliment when I asked her if I could switch up some elements of the design in the 11th hour saying, "I trust you." Really? Marie, you win!

  5. Hi Darcie, it goes without saying that i love your cakes. If I one day have the lavish parties that I dream I have, I will be calling you.

I especially love this post though because I really do talk to my flowers before I give them away to the brides. And for a bride to say "I trust you" is like the ultimate compliment, and I think them saying that makes your work so much easier and better, right?

  7. I am amazed at the dress maker qualities of your cakes. You are doing the same things on cakes that I do on dresses! It blows me away. Really really beautiful cakes! I can't wait to see more. Thanks for inspiring us all.
